from New Jersey: I have poker straight hair and I get great results with the wand. I would recommend wearing the glove until you are comfortable with using it, as it is very different from a standard curling iron. The best part about using a wand vs a clamping curling iron is no crimp from the barrel. I used to have to use so much product to get my hair to stay but with this I just use a bit of hairspray afterwards and it stays all day.
