I don't have cystic acne, rather acne along my jaw long and chin that worsens with stress and my period. I finally went to a derm last year, and she put me on a prescription topical antibiotic, an oral antibiotic, and a topical cream that is supposed to increase cell turnover. I saw moderate results, but nothing amazing. I decided to try retinol to prevent wrinkles and deal with the fine lines that have made an appearance around my eyes and mouth, and HOLY WOW, this stuff cleared up my acne! My skin hasn't been this clear in YEARS. Plus the fine lines around my eyes are GONE. A word of caution, I started out with the sensitive cream by this brand for a few weeks, then switched to the regular strength. You may want to start this every other night if you've never used a retinol. Also, WEAR SUNSCREEN during the day. This is a MUST-TRY.
